2. A successful business always meets all its obligations towards others. Regardless of the economic circumstances, a business should do everything in its power to keep its promises and the deals it has made with other companies. A firm should pay its debts to another firm before the deadline. The creditors who work for a business are sometimes paid later and it is morally very obnoxious if they don?t get their full payments when they are due. If a company is a supplier, then it should never delay the supply of its products or services because that can damage the other business badly. If a construction company has ordered for a large supply of cement and the delivery is due on Monday, it will hire workers and get machinery on rent but what happens at the site, if the cement does not arrive on time? It cannot start to make the road pavement. This will add a lot to its overheads. So, always follow your commitments because total commitment is paramount to reaching the ultimate in performance.
3. A business should have clear documents that explain well all the minor details of circumstances so that all the dealings remain crystal clear. Nothing should be misrepresented or misinterpreted. A textile company in a developing country found an institutional shareholder by misrepresenting the facts and providing fake financial accounts. This stirred a lot of criticism for the company and alarmed all institutions which were planning to invest in textile business. Since then the investments in the textile business have gone down and the industry today is at the door of bankruptcy.
4. If a company is collaborating with another company on a project, it has to be very particular in its ethical practices for the venture to be successful. First of all, the two business partners should have balanced and mutual benefit work agreements. There should be intensive communication between both companies and one company should not hide any details from the other. There should be an independent, coercion-free and collusion-free cooperation so that the business can go on for a long term.
5. A company should treat other business companies with outmost respect regardless of the size of that firm. If a new supplier wants to supply their products, but you don?t want to take the risk, it?s perfectly fine to keep your interests on the table first, but at the same time treat them with respect and give them the confidence to launch their business plan with all their hopes. Also, when a business representative is sitting in a meeting where all the business companies have gathered to discuss the problems faced by the industry, he should give importance to the problems of small companies too and put forward their demands forcefully to the regulatory authorities and the state.
6. It?s very easy to be nice and generous when a business is doing well but it is most important to do so in fierce competitions too.? A business should compete in product excellence and quality services but it should also never use questionable practices like misrepresentation of facts, misleading advertisements, sabotaging, bribing and lobbying with the state. Some practices are allowed by the law, but are morally not deemed right. For example, aggressive pricing to outwit the competitor or merging with foreign joints to throw local businesses out is good for profit maximization but indeed morally wrong. Business companies should never make an attempt to access confidential material of their competitor. Few years back, British Airways used their computer systems to identify customers who were flying with Virgin. British Airways approached them directly with inducements to shift to British Airways. There was a huge roar from Virgin when they found this out and the relations of the two companies have worsened ending up in law suits. Absolutely, there is no doubt that this tactic was one instance of a flagrant abuse of confidentiality.
7. One fine ethical business practice is that a company should believe in maintaining its integrity. In the late 1950s, the directors of glass-manufacturers of Pilkington had to decide how to introduce to the world market an extremely advanced manufacturing process. The new procedure had been built at a considerable risk and expense over the preceding ten years. It enabled the firm to manufacture the glass at very low cost with very high quality. It offered company unassailable competitive advantage over the other manufacturers. But, Pilkington decided in favour of licensing it because it seemed the better thing to do, morally. The directors of Pilkington felt a responsibility not to disrupt ?a great industry?, and considered the introduction of their own world-beating process to be disruptive for others in the trade.

Hi, I am part of a startup non-profit organization and would like to know if anyone here has had experience or has the knowledge to help me approach a company to have either a donation box or a brochure holder w/business cards at their business.
Small businesses tend to be relatively easy when speaking to the owner directly, but larger businesses especially chains tend to be incredibly difficult to approach. Any advice will be appreciated, thank you!

What I recommend that you do is you actually put together a plan and set yourself a target so you know whatever the cost would be for the house or car you wish to buy. You will have planned what you need to achieve in terms of money and time, so really put together a plan of action so you know if you?re business is on track or not and how far away from your target you are.
It will help you achieve your success a lot faster as you will remain focused.
